CLE's View of Immunity & Supplements
June 11, 2020
If you want the attention of CLE’s you need to provide the facts.
About 60% of CLE’s have researched boosting their immunity against COVID.
They are turning to Google to conduct their research, looking at trusted sources that connect them to scientific studies. They ask friends and family for their own experience and trust what their doctors and other medical professionals suggest.
They are turning to Google to conduct their research, looking at trusted sources that connect them to scientific studies. They ask friends and family for their own experience and trust what their doctors and other medical professionals suggest.
“I look for information from trusted scientists and their research to guide me towards the best supplements and ingredients. I specifically look for information concerning health problems that I or my family have so that I can proactively address issues or prevent them from happening.”
“I want to look for places that I trust to let me know more about my immunity system. I know there is lots of good information on WebMD so that source is very trustworthy. I want a good immunity system so I can keep well through all the COVID-19 times where there have been lots of death through the world.”

“When I look for medical information of any kind I always look for reliable sources such as official pages, advice from doctors or specialists in the field and never on Facebook.”
“If the information is backed by scientific research and data I am much more likely to trust the information I am receiving. If the ingredients have been proven to show benefits I am much more likely to try a supplement.”
All-natural and organic is valuable in supplements because it gives people confidence they are only getting what is necessary and nothing that is just filler.
“I look for supplements that are organic that do not have ingredients that aren’t necessary such as additives and dyes. I tend to stick with brand names that I have used in the past or that I’m familiar with. If someone I know and trust recommends a brand that I’ve never heard of, I will research it to make sure it only contains ingredients I’m aware of!”
“For me, it is important to look for information from healthy, natural sources that I trust. I look for organics and organic ingredients and those that promote them.”
“I look for scientific sources that were not commissioned by and/or are not related to a health and wellness or supplement company. I look for an ingredient list that is natural as possible.“
In an uncertain world, supplements offer hope of immunity.
While many CLE are unsure if supplements actually help COVID immunity they see no downside to trying.
Although many are hopeful that boosting immunity will help fight COVID, the overall uncertainty surrounding COVID makes about half unclear of its efficacy.
But, with no downside to strengthening your immunity, many are willing and even find it important to at least try boosting your immunity during a pandemic.
Do you think a supplement or functional ingredient could help strengthen your immunity against Covid?
3 in 4 CLE believe supplements and functional ingredients are important for strengthening their immune system against COVID.
“COVID-19 is new and we don’t know of anything that help us build an immunity to it. However, building your immunity through a supplement or a functional ingredient can’t hurt your chances.”

“Being healthy, eating well and being sure you get the required vitamins etc will always help on fighting off viruses, flus and infections. I’m sure it helps, but not exactly how much.”
“Since we still know so little about the virus, why not try something that can strengthen our immunity and see if that works. The unknown is still out there for all of us…..lets works together and fight this virus.”
“No idea, what would work and wouldn’t, I am not a scientist.”
So what are people taking to boost their immunity against COVID?
Many are continuing with the same vitamins they used pre-COVID, but they have become vigilant in their routine.
Top supplements are:
- Vitamin C
- Vitamin D
- Zinc
- Probiotics
- Elderberry
