Job Description

As a member of the Consumer Research Services team, the Principal Consultant is responsible for consulting with customers on the best design of research studies and programs to best meet the customer’s business needs. The Consultant plans and oversees all aspects of a consumer research study from client consultation to final interpreted findings. The Principal Consultant is responsible for the retention of their assigned customers.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Focuses on consulting on customer business process improvement through more efficient research processes.  Create and consult on program solutions to address research challenges
  • Consult with customer on business requirements of research plans and studies
  • Design research to properly deliver on objectives and business activities
  • Create and maintain study budget and resources
  • Write and review Statement of Work with customer
  • Coordinate research study team, disseminating study information to team member to ensure timely and accurate execution of research
  • Quality review of all study elements
  • Interpret research results and review the results with customers.  Discuss research results in the context of future research opportunities.  Travel as needed
  • Mentor Associate Consultants, Research Managers, Technologists and other team members
  • Creation of business relevant written reports
  • Customer satisfaction and sales for new research studies

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Internal training on current methodologies, techniques, etc.
  • Write white papers and publications to support research methodologies and techniques.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree and a minimum of 5 years experience executing primary consumer research on consumer packaged goods
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Superior communication skills both written and oral.
  • Customer first mindset with a focus on customer relationships
  • Team management and strict adherence to timelines and budget
  • Management of projected timelines
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills
  • Experienced in business process for consumer research and the core tenets of consumer research consulting
  • Process improvement mindset (creative thinking of alternate and customized solutions)
  • Understanding of proper application and selection of basic and advanced multivariate statistical methods as applied to consumer research
  • Effective management of customer relationships including regular travel for in-person meetings
