Position Summary

The Director of Consumer Marketing Science (CMS) manages the InsightsNow team responsible for delivering actionable, high quality research to our clients. The CMS Director is a member of and works with the InsightsNow management team to coordinate delivery of research and to set strategic and tactical plans for the CMS Team and the Company. The CMS Team, comprising Principal Consultants, Research Managers and Associates, Statisticians, and Fielding Coordinators, is a group of highly educated, talented, amazing people, all dedicated to providing exceptional research for the outstanding clients of InsightsNow. Leading, managing, mentoring, and developing this team is an important, challenging, and rewarding opportunity.

The CMS Director reports to the Chief Financial Officer / Chief Operations Officer.

Responsibilities
  • Manage team of Principal Consultants, Research Managers and Associates, Statisticians, and Fielding Coordinators to provide actionable, high‐quality research on time to support current clients.
  • Partner with sales team to grow the business with new clients and accounts.
  • Lead, manage, mentor, and develop the CMS Team to provide expanded and improved service to clients and career development opportunities to team members.
  • Identify and work to develop tools and methods to improve CMS Team performance.
  • Contribute to the Company’s progress and growth as a member of the Management Team, participating in strategic and tactical planning.
  • Work with the Management Team to plan for efficient operations and optimal capacity, and develop appropriate staff and partner resources.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years experience in market research client service management.
  • Excellent management skills, including:
    • Strong desire and ability to train and mentor team members.

    • Appropriate balance of delegation and risk management;
    • Ability and experience managing remote, telecommuting workers;
    • Willingness to share experience and learn from team members.

  • Excellent organization skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‐paced environment.
  • Experience with quantitative research methods as applied to consumer research and product development business processes from a consulting business.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Expertise with Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Confirmit; Ability to develop expertise with proprietary analysis, reporting, and CRM / project management software.
  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally (approximately 5 ‐ 10%).
  • Bachelors or advanced degree in business, mathematics, or the sciences.

  • Corvallis, Oregon – Headquarters office
Compensation
  • Compensation is a combination of salary and bonus earned through achievement of agreed objectives and Company profitability. Total compensation is based upon qualifications and results.
