Principal Consultant

Summary

The Principal Consultant works with the client to understand, define and document the overarching business objective and approach for product research, to develop the project schedule and analysis plan and coordinate all communication. Internally, the Principal Consultant coordinates company resources ensuring the quality, timeliness and accuracy of deliverables. The Principal Consultant applies quantitative analysis techniques to interpret data, formulate reports and develop and present to the client findings and substantiated recommendations based upon the research. The Principal Consultant is typically involved with multiple concurrent solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Developing insightful proposals and delivering strategic sales presentations
  • Working with Statisticians, Associates, Research Managers, and Fielding Coordinators to execute project specifications and deliver quality results to clients
  • Selecting the most appropriate research methodology and techniques
  • Overseeing the design of research questionnaires and moderator guides
  • Reviewing the analyses and reports of others—ensuring accuracy, logical consistency and value-add
  • Deepening existing client relationships—generating incremental business
  • Managing contracts and up-sell/cross-sell opportunities
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years in a market research client service capacity
  • Strong analytic skills with experience in statistical modeling and analysis—including multivariate and conjoint analysis
  • Experience with qualitative research methods as applied to consumer research and product development business processes
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organization skills; Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Expertise with Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Confirmit; Ability to develop expertise with proprietary analysis and reporting software
  • Ability and willingness to travel
  • Strong desire and ability to train and mentor team members
  • Bachelors or advanced degree in business, mathematics, or the sciences

  • Corvallis, Oregon – Headquarters office
